Samuel is still a genius
Despite the challenges Samuel faces, he has moments of (what I considered) brilliance, which stuns me.
On Berries again – they have some simple work which they need to do at home. Amazingly, he managed to do it this week, even before I got him to read the sentences. For the simple reason that he memorised the positions of the lines. (The teacher must have showed them). Well, it is not the right way of learning, but I was encouraged by his visual memory!
Yesterday, when we drove past the old premises of his Kindergarten (they moved because they are rebuilding it), he pointed to it and said, “This is not my school anymore”. I asked:”Are you feeling sad?”. He replied, just like a man, “No, I’m just saying”.
Last night, when he finished up his soup, I exclaimed, “Good!”. He added wryly :”job”.
Edmund said – he will be fine. I suppose. Whatever it is, I treasure these moments because they reveal to me who he is – unique and full of colours. ~ Elisa
