We went to South Island, New Zealand, our dream holiday destination. Let me share with you, my Father’s world.
Seal Colony, Kaikoura
Pancake Rocks at Punaikaki! |
Enroute, from Kaikoura to Punakaiki, along Lewis Pass.
We were to see many of such large mountainous plains in our travels. |
Blow-hole at Punaikaki! |
Wow! First an explosion! Then a mist of sea-rain… |
Up on Franz Josef, via a helicoptor ride.
Magnificent! |
Beautiful, white playground. |
Rivers of water, formed by the melting glacier. |
We walk towards the Glacier Wall. See how small we looked.
There were groups of people at the glacier wall. We could hardly see them. |
Knight’s Point Look-out, between Paringa and Haast. |
Between Haast and Wanaka.
This is either Lake Hawea, or Lake Wanaka.
Both were as beautiful. |
Another photo, of either Lake Hawea, or Lake Wanaka. |
Moke Lake, by which we camped for the night. |
Beautiful horses, beautiful scenery, at Wanaka. |
We took the Taieri Gorge Railway at Dunedin |
Taieri Gorge. |
The sea… at the Otago Peninsula. |
The Albatross Colony. |
No Albatross, but saw the sea gulls and some seals. |
The amazing Moeraki Boulders
(between Dunedin and Oamaru) |
They are, of course, to be climbed unto. |
More rocks to climb on!
(See the tiny red stick-like figure – that’s my boy!) |
Elephant Rocks!
The Chronicles of Narnia was filmed here. |
Whale Fossils, part of the Vanishing World Trails. |
I got my own sheep photo! Yayee! |
On our way to Mt Cook.
The clouds have descended upon the mountain. |
Lake Tekapo.
My favourite place. |
So tranquil, so beautiful. |
The boys can spend hours playing here. |
The Church of the Good Shepherd.
Jesus, for whom all is created. |
Spectacular view from Mt John! |
The Southern Alps, from Mt John |
The drive to Mt Cook. |
The walk to view Mt Cook, |
We made it! As near as we can get. |
I am sure we can see this in Singapore too, but we saw one here. 一 |

Just outside Christchurch. Enroute to Akaora. |
Just a few minutes after the earlier shot was taken.
How can a place have so much beauty everywhere? |
Cruise off the shore of Akaora |
Sailing out to the Pacific Ocean! |
Believe it or not, we are in a volcanic lake.
We were on a Dolphine cruise, and we did spot them.
But we could not get good pictures of them.
These are Spotted Shags. |
Interesting rock formations! |
This is the “Fat lady” – singing.
But it’s not over for us in New Zealand. |
As I took it all in, it occurred to me, that even if we were not there to see it, everything would still be just as beautiful. We were of little significance. God created all things for His pleasure. We can merely watch in awe.
Thank you God, for giving me eyes that I may see it all and life that I may experience it all. But most of all, thank you God, for giving me revelation that I may acknowledge You, the giver of all good things.
Thank you, my Father, for showing me Your world.
Gorgeous photos! And yes, amen indeed. I had the same awed thoughts when I went to South Island for my honeymoon. Such vast beauty at every turn – the stones will shout his praise, even if we do not.
Thanks for sharing the photos and trips 🙂 .
We went to the South Island for a short trip when we were staying in Wellington. Agree with you the beauty of the nature simply announced God’s amazing creation.
Thanks CE 🙂 I guess that the Kiwis’ gift to God will be their land, as beautiful as it was first created.
